Luxury slip-on shoes are another variation of the modern ‘Athleisure’ trend of upmarket casual shoes.
Versatility and Comfort are the hallmarks of this modern classic trend.
These are not your cheap canvas or synthetic slip-ons from the retail chain stores. Like the luxury sneakers they have the added comfort of a soft, well-made and foot-friendly sole which may be flat or cleated.
Today’s luxury slip-on shoes come in leather or laser cut micro-suede for that upmarket look. Some call their design ‘smoking slippers’ which is the female version of the men’s smoking jacket. Both of these used to be only worn at home. To tell a smoking slipper style from a normal flat or ballet shoe, the smoking slipper has a shaped tongue as in the Top End and Diana Ferrari shoes above. Another name for them is ‘Loafers’. Both Supersoft styles above are loafers.
Luxury slip-on shoes can be found under a number of shoe website categories – Flats, Sneakers, Loafers or Comfort Shoes.
And Now for Something Different
This is a Sketchers design that is a sneaker hybrid. It is a sneaker with the centre part cut out for comfort in the heat as well as looking a bit dressier. It is a bit far calling it a ‘Mary Jane’ style because a ‘Mary Jane’ style has a single strap across the instep of a closed in shoe.

Since I first found these on Style Tread, they appear to have been sold out and are only available in black.
Sneakers, Luxury Sneakers –
