There’s a baby boomer style secret that can turn a short-term trend into a long-lasting style. It’s simple and easy to learn. Read on.
Sometimes a fashion style returns and you really like it. You want to be able to wear it for quite a number of years – until it falls apart, fades badly or you truly feel that it has been worn to death. You know or you have read my Blog and realise that it is a short-term trend.
What do you do?
There are two ways to turn the current short-term ‘cold shoulder trend’ into a long-lasting style.
Baby Boomer Style Secret – The Cheat’s Way
First choose a semi-fitting style like this Jacqui E ‘Jo cold shoulder top’ that comes in various colours and sleeve lengths.
When the trend has passed, wear the top under a jacket so that the sleeves do not show. It will look like a simple top. People do not remember everything you wear. They are too busy worrying about what they are wearing to keep tabs on all your clothes.
Confidence is the key here because if you wish to take the jacket off, you need to feel comfortable. You also need the poise to send out the message that what you wear looks great on you regardless of whether it is the current fashion. Feel any self-doubt and it will show.

Baby Boomer Style Secret – The Stylish Way
This is one of the style secrets that I teach my Baby Boomer clients.
Here’s the secret – You are looking for that tiny design feature that incorporates the trend while defying the seasons. It suggests the trend without fully embracing it.
Here’s how it works. Chicos have two designs with a single cold shoulder. It is the only place where I have found it.
The single cold shoulder is different, unusual and timeless. The red dress on the right is called a split shoulder; so you can wear it like a split or as seen on the far right, with the split opened up to be a tiny cold shoulder. The purple and black colour-blocked top on the right has a modified cold shoulder that does not extend as open as the Jacqui E top above.
This style secret requires more effort on your part. You have to look beyond the common. The effort is worth it.
Dressing in stylish modern ways that do not break your bank account requires you to look at things a little differently. You can get a taste of it from my Blog Articles or more tailored tips from me personally.
