There is a world-wide movement embracing simplification and simplified dressing is part of this. It is a growing phenomenon.
This comes alongside the rise of the influential Baby Boomer Woman. Women over 50 are stepping away from their current careers (and sometimes redundancy) into wanting to have a bigger and bolder influence in the world around them. They are creating a new vision of themselves. This vision requires concentration, effort and time.
When you get to this stage, your priorities change. This means that you start to limit your choices to concentrate on what’s important to you. Women readying to, or in the process of, changing direction feel an urge to clear out the past to make space for the new. De-cluttering clothes that don’t fit the new image of you is an important part of this process.
Clothes are the easiest and quickest way to indicate a change in your life.
In a world where everything is upsized, and that includes the overwhelming choices of places to buy clothes as well as the increasing size of our wardrobes, we are drowning in options. Our planet is also drowning in unsold clothes.
Will you embrace the movement to simplified dressing? Are you game to say – Enough is Enough?
Simplified Dressing – What is It?
Call it Minimalist Dressing, Capsule Wardrobes or Simplified Dressing – the goal is the same. Less clothes. More options.
Following the male practice of a Capsule Wardrobe where almost everything goes together frees up your decision-making, your time and your finances. The beauty is that we women have the choice to do Capsule Wardrobe in a smart, female way.
Being a person who looks at things from a bigger picture, I have spent time getting an overview of current thinking on it. Most Capsule Wardrobes approach it from one school of thought. Their approach is solid and it works. Because I am a trained Image Consultant with an eye for creative solutions, I have worked out that they are lots more ways of simplifying your dressing.
